Assisted reproduction for the LGBT community:

The road to parenthood.

There are no limits that can stand in the way of motherhood or fatherhood. The LGBT community can realize their dream of being parents thanks to the advance in the multiple techniques of assisted reproduction.

Some of the more extended treatment options for female couples are insemination through a sperm donor, IVF with  sperm donor, shared maternity and IVF with ovodonation.

In the case of male partners, the most common treatments consist of an IVF cycle with donor eggs or a surrogate pregnancy.

Reproducción asistida LGBT

Although in Spain the current legislation does not allow surrogate motherhood, at present it is legal in many countries where it is performed with total security, such as the United States and Canada.

Services

Intrauterine Insemination (Artificial Insemination)

Artificial insemination is a technique of assisted reproduction that consists of introducing into the uterus of the woman the most optimal sperm to fertilize her egg.

It is the most natural assisted reproduction treatment, because fertilization takes place in the fallopian tubes and not in the laboratory. It is especially indicated for single women or young couples with sterility problems.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

In vitro fertilization (IVF) consists of fertilizing the eggs with the sperm in the laboratory and, once the embryos are generated, they are transferred to the woman’s uterus.

Shared Motherhood

The reception of female partner oocytes is an in vitro fertilization treatment for couples of women. Both participate in the maternity with donor sperm: one donates the eggs and the other becomes pregnant.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) with egg donation

Often, one of the main causes of not getting pregnant is poor egg quality. In these cases, an IVF cycle with an egg donor would be recommended.

IVF with egg donation is the ideal in vitro fertilization treatment for single women, couples of women or women with a male partner who have already undergone IVF treatment with their own eggs that has not worked or when there is an oocyte factor due advanced maternal age.
