World Population Day - Reproclinic

World Population Day

Did you know that by the end of 2022, the world population is expected to reach 8 billion people?

Every year, on the 11th of July, we celebrate World Population Day, a United Nations initiative. Its main goal is to raise awareness of global population issues, including the importance of sexual and reproductive health and rights around the world.

In the last three decades, the average global lifespan has risen by 11%. Still, both fertility rates and family size have dropped by over 40%.

To some, this might be shocking, especially since nowadays, thanks to all the health advancements, we are observing reduced maternal and child mortality. But the truth is, many other factors are contributing to these lower fertility rates, such as periods of financial stress, trouble finding a suitable partner to start a family with, or postponed motherhood due to employability or social reasons.

Today, more than ever before, we must realize that prioritizing family planning is key. What’s more, facilitated access to reproductive health, as well as proper child and adolescent education, should always be among the highlights.

At Reproclinic, we realize that investments in women’s and girls’ health are not only valuable, but crucial to ensure a healthy population. As part of the International Fertility Alliance, we are committed to raising fertility awareness, providing support to people who are currently facing or could face fertility problems in the future, and promoting research and collaboration among the world’s leading experts.
