“I want to have the opportunity to do things in a different way, in the way that we understand best at Reproclinic, by individualizing each maternity option and striving not only for reproductive success, but also, along the way, to find excellence in the work of a multidisciplinary team”

Interview

Why did you become an expert in fertility?

The truth is that I have always been passionate about gynecology. And, as I advanced in the specialty, I realized how much I liked and enjoyed the world of reproduction and looking for options for the fertility problems of patients. Just the possibility of being able to help those couples who would give everything to have a child made it a worthwhile career choice for me.

In addition, the field of reproduction at the technological level has advanced so much, and nowadays the results are better, the treatments have been simplified and, in general, there are many things that we can do, and will be able to do, in reproduction.

Why are you proud to work at Reproclinic?

Because Reproclinic is a different concept in understanding and treating motherhood and sterility. I knew that from the first moment they asked me to join the project! I want to have the opportunity to do things in a different way, in the way that we understand best at Reproclinic, by individualizing each maternity option and striving not only for reproductive success, but also, along the way, to find excellence in the work of a multidisciplinary team (doctors, biologists, nurses, psychologists, etc.).

What is your attitude toward working with patients?

I’m a person who likes to get involved with patients, I have a great ability to empathize and sometimes I even suffer more than I should, professionally speaking, when the results are not as good as I would like.

I’m also very direct and 100% honest. I always try to give real information, convey all the information that the patient needs and not give “misleading” prognoses or “false” hopes I try to explain the reality to every couple that comes to my office, understand them and advise them from a medical point of view about the best treatment option in each case.

Have you had patients who inspire you?

I really have, especially those patients who persevered for years, undergoing many treatments, taking a great emotional, not to mention financial, toll, but who succeeded in the end. Their tenacity, perseverance, belief, courage, tolerance for suffering… It really is quite a learning experience for us doctors in our day-to-day work.

How do you spend your free time?

Well, the truth is that I try to find hours in the day to do what I like and unwind a bit. I really like the mountains and taking it all in, especially with my children. I also really like skiing, which I do worse than my children, and running. I’m always looking for new challenges in terms of races or routes.

How would you describe your personality?

I’m an outgoing person, somewhat shy, cheerful, easy to deal with, constant and persevering. Very warm and I love meeting new people.
